SMC founded in Hong Kong:

Originally launched as a family manufacturing company in Hong Kong, SMC began by developing electrical appliances and later diversified the business extensively from consumer electrical appliances manufacturing to contract manufacturing of technology products, semiconductor fabrications, software development, rental car and taxi fleet operations and property development and investments. The business has extended from Hong Kong to worldwide.

SMC Property incorporated, diversifying into developing property, specialing in the West London area. SMC maintains healthy growth in its core traditional product manufacturing business.

SMC Property has created 33 new homes since 2015 with 110 in the immediate pipeline. The team is split between London and Hong Kong and is growing rapidly as more sites are acquired and optimised.

LONDON OFFICE

Mustafa Taher

Managing Director

Having founded SMC Property in 2015 and as the company’s Managing Director, Mus leads SMC on all aspects of acquisition, planning, construction, investment, and asset management.

Mus comes from a legal background and has previously worked at the Bank of London and Reuters.

When hes not in the office, you will find Mus in a muddy field training his ever growing family of service dogs.

Laura Gerokostas

Head of Development

Starting at SMC in 2016, Laura oversees the day-to-day management the entire company portfolio and is involved in every stage of the development process from acquisition, to project conception, right through until practical completion.

Laura previously worked at Savills and holds a degree in Architectural Engineering & Design Management from Loughborough University.

On any given weekend you can bet Laura will be visiting a garden centre and spends much of her freetime gardening.

Jane Hoffman

Senior Marketing Manager

Jane joined SMC in 2021, having previously worked at London based residential developers Almacantar and Mount Anvil. She oversees the marketing function of the business and brings over a decade of industry experience to her role. A London native, she is most often found checking out new restaurants, cafes and bars in her local South West London area.

Iulia Trifu

Senior Customer Care and Property Manager

Iulia is SMCs’ Senior Customer Care and Property Manager. She joined SMC in October 2022, after three years at Ocubis where she worked as a Head Receptionist & Senior Property Manager. Iulia is in charge of all tenant move-ins and is the friendly face from SMC that will take care of all resident queries throughout their tenancies. Iulia prides herself in taking the time to build individual relationships with all tenants and maintaining open lines of communication.

When Iulia isn’t at work, she loves to get her hands dirty in DIY planting projects with mini succulents and cacti, almost creating small new worlds of plant life, many of which have now begun to pop up in the SMC office!

HONG KONG OFFICE

Mr. Billy Yung

Chairman

Mr. Billy Yung is the founder and Director of SMC Investcorp Ltd.  He has over 40 years of experience in real-estate investment and development in the USA, Canada, Holland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and China.  The properties he developed and constructed included high rise office and commercial complexes, residential properties, warehouses and detached houses.

Mr. Yung received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Washington and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.   He is a golf fanatic and you will most likely see him in the greenfield every weekend.

Cindy Li

General Manager

Cindy has been a company Director since 2016. She is experienced in managing the administration and business affairs in the office environment as well as property investments and developments in the USA and Hong Kong. Cindy loves pets and she enjoys walking along the hillside with her furry friends at leisure time.
